Greetings from the West
Dear Market Goers,
I’m sitting at The Pump Station in downtown Deadwood, South Dakota, a really cute coffee shop in an old filling station, listening to local political discourse while sipping different varieties of coffee from Sturgis Coffee Company. It’s been nice to have a change of scenery, there are so many incredible sights to see in the United States and I’m lucky enough to get a few days off to see them! Deadwood is where Wild Bill Hickock and Calamity Jane lived a portion of their lives and where they are buried. Yesterday, we saw Devil’s Tower…an awesome sight! Today, we’re moving on to Mt. Rushmore.
But the market lives on! I don’t know if you got to taste some of Bonnie Diehl’s cuisine she cooked during her chef demo last week, but it was mighty deelish! The okra had this really tasty mix of Indian spices…Lothar’s sausage was incredible and the corn salad was to die for. Check the recipe section of next week’s newsletter for her recipes. Thank you Bonnie… And Jack from Jake and the Burtones has some friends coming down from Boston this weekend and they want to play at the market. Give them a nice Virginia welcome!!
Gotta git on the road…see you next week..

Therapy Corner!
That’s what happens when you’re angry at people. You make them part of your life.
–Garrison Keillor
Our problems with anger and our problems in relationships go hand in hand. Some of us have held back our anger, which led to resentment of our loved ones. Some of us have indulged our anger and become abusive. Some of us have been so frightened of anger that we closed off the dialogue in our relationships when angry feelings came out.
Some of us have wasted our energy by focusing anger on people who weren’t really important to us. Do we truly want them to become so important? Yet, perhaps the important relationships got frozen because we weren’t open and respectful with our anger. It isn’t possible to be close to someone without being angry at times. We let our loved ones be part of our lives by feeling our anger when it is there and expressing it openly, directly, and respectfully to them – or by hearing them when they are angry. Then, with dialogue, we can let it go.
