Dear Marketeers,
No market this week as we deserve a break. We’re gearing up for our 1st Anniversary celebration and our move to “It’s Bazaar”, on 21st Street, next to Nichol’s Hardware in beautiful, downtown Purcellville… Be there to celebrate with us!!! We are fortunate to have “The Polka Dots” playing at the market that day…you will love this talented group of young ladies playing traditional, folk, and bluegrass music!
Check out the FRONT PAGE of our hometown paper, The Purcellville Gazette, which has an article on the move, complete with a sweet picture of some of our customers, including John Mercke, huddled around the fire at our Christmas Market, last Thursday….
Speaking of the Christmas Market, it was a tough one with Siberian temps and Patagonian winds, but we were happy to be there to fulfill our customers’ Christmas orders and to spread Christmas cheer with our chicken chili, made with Liberty Hill chicken, hot chocolate, and cookies, made by The Magnolia Girls. The picture above shows the frozen vendors who made it to market! Special Thanks to Monica and Eric Deaver for letting me borrow their killer crock pot and carafes which kept the hot chocolate amazingly warm…..I need to get one of those…
Here’s a message from Monica who organized the Hats for Haiti drive…
A warm thank you to market goers for helping us to exceed our goal with more than 400 hats sent to Haitian orphans in time for Christmas. Hats of all kinds and sizes were created by Purcellville Community market goers, a Brambleton Boy Scout troop, and the members of St. Francis de Sales Church in Purcellville and St. James Church in Leesburg. Thanks for warming the hearts and heads of the Haitian children. – Monica Deaver
On that warm note, Happy New Year to All and we look forward to seeing you in 2011!
Sincerely,
Juanita Tool
