YES VIRGINIA, WE’RE OPEN!..NEW MARKET HOURS

Dear Market Goers,

Hope y’all had a great Thanksgiving.  We are open this weekend with about half of our crew as some have family in town.  But market is still going to be super-fun and tasty!!!  Here’s our plan…We’re getting out the new fire pit and serving Free Hot Cider and Coffee.  And yes, my friends, this is your golden opportunity to come to the market and try our newest breakfast…Grits with your choice of cheese, onions, and a fried egg on top,. And if you don’t like grits, there is always Lothar’s incredible Market BLT.  Breakfast is my favorite meal so this is heaven on earth to me…

There's our new firepit!

Next week we will be back in full swing with a couple of new vendors. Micaela Keene, of Lincoln, will be debuting her artisan breads and cross your fingers…..Holy Cow Delivery is trying really hard to rearrange their delivery schedule so they can come to the market .  Just think…we’ll have more local bread and we’ll have milk products for the first time at our Saturday market.  Those of you that attended the Wednesday Market know how delicious Holy Cow’s milk, chocolate milk, yogurt, cream cheeses, butters, and other products are.

And say a prayer for Erica of the Magnolia Girls…she has been absent for the past couple of weeks because she’s been really sick lately and might have to have her gall bladder taken out…We miss her cheery personality and tasty baked goods.  There’s a chance her goods will be at market this week….although she most likely wont.

DON’T FORGET…NEW HOURS ARE 10-1.

I was thinking about something meaningful to write for this weekend and then gave up when I read Lothar’s e-mail.  It was so entertaining, I decided that I couldn’t do any better…..

Dear Valued Customers and Friends of Good Taste,

Our family wishes you and your family a healthy Thanksgiving week filled with lots of laughter and tender moments. Everyday we have lots to be thankful although it is easier to say than to practice:) Yes,Lothar’s Gourmet Sausages will be at the market on Saturday ( don’t forget winter schedule: 10AM-1PM) after Thanksgiving with our fresh products. Please come and join us and we especially welcome new customers;

a. Sick of turkey and need Post Turkey Taste Good Food

c. More meals to prepare but less time to spend in the kitchen

d. Want to BBQ for reminiscing Summer

e. Don’t want to be tempted into “Sale, Sale” pitch to spend beautiful Sat.morning inside mega stores because:

1. You already have enough (Do I Want or do I Need ?)

2. You’d rather spend it on a nice family vacation (where memories can be created) than on things

3. These things are made by more likely contributing to carbon footprints

4. You are independant from mass consumerism because no economist can plainly explain “why when I am overspent and undersaved it is good for national economy”

5.  January should be designated as a “feel good, take care of yourself month:  not open the bills and feel depressed month”

6. You’ve been to enough malls and have a T-Shirt saying ” Been there, done that, and got this Shirt”
